MISSION ACCOMPLISHED !
It is with their hearts filled with beautiful grateful smiles that a team of sixteen dynamic MSA volunteers have returned from The Yaounde Gynaeco-Obstetric and Paediatric Hospital (YGOPH) last November 17th, after building upon the good work started in November 2011 during MSA’s first medical mission to Cameroon.
In addition to providing free cleft lip and palate successful surgery for 64 young Cameroonians, the team has continued to develop its partnership with local doctors and nurses so they can benefit once again from advanced knowledge and expertise.
“This year, we were extremely fortunate as we were sponsored by both the country’s First Lady, Mrs. Chantal Biya, and the well-known organization African Synergy, in addition to being supported on the local planning side by the High Commissionner for Canada, Mr. Benoît-Pierre Laramée, and his team. Together they helped coordinate a publicity campaign to build awarenesss and recruit young patients upon our arrival”, wishes to emphasize Dr. Louise Caouette-Laberge, founder and Chef de Mission of MSA.
All this precious work would not have been possible without the crucial help of our generous donators. Our warmest thanks to everyone!
